Answer By Dr Zakir Naik,”Give Zakaat-ul-Fitr for the purification of the fast from empty talks and obscene talks to feed the poor people and it should be given before the Eid Salaah. If you give before the Eid-ul-Fitr Salaah it is called as Zakaat, if it will be given after the Eid-ul-Fitr Salaah, its called as Sadaqah.”So based on this Hadith we come to know that it should be given only to very poor people, Miskeen people, who don’t have enough food to eat you know so at least their day of Eid will be rest assured you go happy and that’s the reason he said it should be before the Eid-ul-Fitr Salaah. As far as the normal Zakaat, it can be given anytime of the year.
