In this reflection, the concept of “beautiful patience” (Sabrun Jamilun) is discussed in the Quran, where it appears twice in two different forms. The first form is “Sabrun Jamilun,” a timeless and enduring patience, used when Prophet Ya’qub (AS) faces the uncertainty of his son Yusuf’s (AS) fate, highlighting a patience without a clear end in sight. The second form, “Sabran Jamilan,” is used to describe the patience of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during the intense opposition and hostility from the Quraysh. This form suggests that the patience is temporary, as relief is on the horizon. Allah assures the Prophet ﷺ that though the suffering seems endless, it is not; relief is near. This distinction emphasizes the nature of the trials and the patience needed to endure them.
