Allah ﷻ teaches us that true freedom lies not in seeking the approval of people but in striving to please Him alone. It’s okay if others are upset with you as long as you are not upsetting Allah ﷻ. He has clearly defined the rights of parents, spouses, children, employers and others—rights that we are obligated to fulfill. But even when you give people their due rights they may still demand more: more time, more attention, more of what others have. And that’s okay. Let them be upset. Your peace comes from knowing that you are accountable only to Allah ﷻ not to their ever-changing expectations. This is the ultimate liberation: living with the certainty that your actions are measured by His standards not by the fleeting opinions of others. Alhamdulillah, this is the freedom Allah ﷻ wants for us—a life anchored in His pleasure not in the approval of creation.
