Further more it’s mentioned in Sahih Bukhari Vol no. 1 in the Book of Adhan ch 75 Hadith no. 692
“Hazrat Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, he said that when we offer Salaah our shoulders touched the shoulders of the companions.
It’s mentioned in Abu Dawood Vol . no. 1 in the Book of Salaah ch . no. 245 hadith no. 666.
Abdullah ibne Amr may Allah be pleased with him he said that the “Prophet before starting Salaah he turned around and he said that straightens your rows, stand shoulder to shoulder closen the gaps, and do not leave any opening for the devil. “
The Prophet wasn’t referring to the Devil which you see in the Museum with two horns and a tail. He was referring to the Devil of racism, of caste, of color, of wealth irrespective whether you are rich or poor, king or popper when you stand for Salaah, you stand shoulder to shoulder. Irrespective whether you are black or white, Yellow or brown when you stand for Salaah, you stand shoulder to shoulder.
And the best part of Salaah is the Sujood, is the prostration. In the Quran sujood is mentioned no less than 92 times. And Allah says in surah Al-Imran ch no. 3 verse no. 43 that,
O! Mary worship thy Lord devotely and prostrate thy self and bow down with those who bow down.
Allah repeats the message in surah Hajj ch no. 22 verse no. 77 that,
Ya ayiuhal lazina aminu,
O you who believe, bow down and prostrate yourselves and worship thy Lord and do good things so that you may prosper.
All the messengers of Allah (swt) of almighty God when they offered salaah, when they pray to almighty God they did the sujood, they prostrated.
And if you read the Bible
It’s mentioned in the Book of Genesis ch. no. 17 verse no. 3
“Abraham fell on his face, when he prayed to the Lord .”
It’s mentioned in the Book of Numbers ch. no. 20 verse no. 6
That “Moses and Aaron fell upon their face and the Lord appeared to them.”
It’s mentioned in the Book of Joshua ch. no. 5 verse no. 14
That “Joshua fell on his face and he prayed to God.”
Its mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew ch. no. 26 verse no. 39
“In the garden of getsemony Jesus Christ (pbuh) he fell on his face and he prayed to God.”
So all the prophets of God they fell on their face and they prayed to God and no gymnast also can do better than the way we Muslims do, by falling on the face and pray to God. That we put the highest part of our body, the fore head and the lowest part on the ground and we say, “Subhana rabbiyal ala” that glory be to Allah, who is the most high.
And today the physiologists they tell us, that the mind is not directly under our control, but our body is directly under our control. If I want to raise my hand, I can take a step forward, but the mind is not directly under our control, therefore to humble your mind; you have to humble your body. And there is no better way than to put the highest part of your body the forehead to the lowest part of the ground and then say glory be to Allah, the Most High, glory be to Allah, the Most High, thrice.
