One Word with Adam Jamal – “Yakhrusun”: Surat Yunus, Aya 66

Introducing a new series with Ustadh Adam, Director of the Bayyinah Dream Program!

Describing the disbelievers in this aya, Allah says that all they do is follow their suspicions and “wild guess” (yakhrusuun). The Arabs used this word to describe a person standing beneath a date palm, trying to guess how many dates are in the tree. Allah is saying that these people do the same when it comes to faith. Instead of following His clear revelation, they occupy themselves with trying to guess the nature of Allah and what He wants from us.
