Differ strongly with others, express your opinion very convincingly no matter what it is, but do not be insulting, demeaning, belittling or abusive of others who hold a different opinion.
The public becomes confused and despondent. They lose hope, lose respect of all scholars and ultimately drift away from the Deen.
When a scholar Insults another, he displays his pride and arrogance as well as the weakness of his opinion. Had his opinion been strong, he wouldn’t ever feel the need to insult those who hold opposing views. Rather he would be reassured within, that the strength of the truth will indeed be dominant with time.
Let’s respect each other in the way we differ, for the sake of Allah and the Ummah.
