In this Episode of Lives of The Khulafaa, Shaykh Dr Yasir covers the life Abdullah Ibn Abbas, but first mainly focusing on the term ‘Ahl Al-Bayt’. Abdullah Ibn Abbas had two important titles as a Sahaba. First, he was known to be the most famous scholar of the Sahaba when it comes to Qur’an, He was called the ‘Habr’ of the Ummah. The term ‘Habr’ was used to describe him as the scholar of the Ummah. Likewise he was also known as the one who could translate the Qur’an, not necessarily to a different language but instead translating the meaning of the Qur’an to the masses.
Abdullah Ibn Abbas represents one of the most famous ‘Ahl Al-Bayt’. Now the ‘Ah Al-Bayt is a very common Quranic term, also found in the Sunnah. Furthermore it is well known in the religion of Islam primarily because it has become a point of dispute between the two main groups of Islam. Allah(SWT) says in Surah Al Ahzab, Verse 33: “Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet's] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification”
Now regarding the family of the Prophet(S), does this mean that the family of the Prophet(S) is automatically a holy/sacred family?
