There are two kinds of “Iman”: on your tongue and in your heart. In the Quran, “mu’men” refers to faith in the heart which can get depleted, while “Muslim” is the outward manifestation of faith. Iman is not something you can keep or something others can judge. Knowledge of it is the realm of Allah.
