As Muslims, it is essential to heed this call and strive to purify our hearts of negative qualities such as sin, malice, envy, worldliness, greed, and arrogance. Instead, we should replace these negative traits with positive qualities such as generosity, compassion, benevolence, and gratitude.
FREQUENTLY, THE TERM “Qalb As-saleem” is translated as a “pure heart.” In many of our minds, a pure heart is often connected to a person who commits no sins, who does not err. For most of us, it’s impossible to live a sinless, errorless life. This makes some of us feel like qalb As-saleem is somewhat an unattainable goal. But Qalb As-saleem wasn’t understood to relate to perfection by Qur’anic commentators. According to Muhammad Ibn Sîrîn: The qalb As-saleem knows that Allah is the truth, that the Hour is coming without doubt, and that Allah raises the dead from their graves.
