This Khutbah was recorded on September 23rd, 2016 in the Euless Masjid.
In the Quran, Allah describes mankind as impatient and living in haste, says Shaykh Abdullah Oduro. This is why we always complain when we find ourselves in a new situation. Our complacency and impatience make us complain, using the excuse of “venting” as justification for our negative attitudes. This is cancerous reaction if it spreads among people because eventually it leads to having bad anticipation of Allah. To alleviate ourselves from constant complaints, we must learn from Prophet Yacoub, who, faced with the calamity of losing two sons, only complaints to Allah while asking his other children to actively try to find their brothers. A strong mu’men always sees light at the end of the tunnel, shows gratitude and gets up and acts. This is how to spread good spirit and live in optimism.
