The Hajj reminds us that our tradition goes beyond our Prophet. Allah says in Surah Hajj (V78) “And strive hard in (the way of) Allah, (such) a striving a is due to Him; He has chosen you and has not laid upon you an hardship in religion; the faith of your father Ibrahim; He named you Muslims”.
It reminds us that it is the way of our Prophet and our father Ibrahim were upon. Hajj was ordained by Allah to Ibrahim (as) who was told to call (Adthaan) for it. “Call ˹all˺ people to the pilgrimage. They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel from every distant path” [Surah Hajj 27]
So much of the 10 days of Dhul Hijjah and the Hajj are connected to Ibrahim (as) and his family.
