There is another allegation by the Indian media that, “the congress party gave patronage to Dr Zakir Naik.” Let me tell you, I am not a politician and neither do I take part in politics ofIndia. Yes, there are many politicians that know me.As far as I am concerned, I know very few politicians and there are politicians from different parties that know me. You will be shocked to know that even politicians from the BJP know me. And I remember, a couple of years back, I received a call from ShatrughanSinha, who is a famous actor from the Bollywood and at that time when he phoned me , he was a elected member of parliament from the BJP party, and he told me that Zakir bhai why don’t you come for one of my campaigns? You are very popular.Just because someone knows me that does not mean that, that party is giving patronage to me .Just for your information I would like to tell you that when the PeaceTV applied for the downlinking permission in 2008, it was the Congress Party which was the ruling party and that party did not give me permission. So it is a completely false information that some political party is giving me patronage
