Meet Hamza Belfadhal, CEO of One Body One Ummah, who with his closest friends engages in charity work and also swimming at the local seaside in Dublin, Ireland.
Hamza shares the story of losing his best friend, Suhayb El Sheick, after a tragic swimming accident in May of 2023. Recalling the heart-wrenching weeks of uncertainty as Suhayb remained in a coma, Hamza reflects on how Islam and his faith in Allah kept his whits together.
Ultimately, Suhayb returned to the Mercy of Allah in July 2023, and in his memory, Hamza and friends have decided to raise funds to build a masjid and Quranic school as a form of sadaqah jariyah and to continue Suhayb’s legacy.
