Ustadh Nouman recounts an episode from the Prophet’s ﷺ marital life, where his preference for one wife sparked discontent among others. The wives’ complaint about honey’s unpleasant odor led the Prophet ﷺ to initially abstain, but Allah’s guidance clarified that lawful pleasures shouldn’t be forsaken for others’ approval.
The key lesson, Ustadh explains, is that our actions should be guided by Allah’s laws rather than just to please our family or society. This teaches us to establish personal boundaries and not be swayed by others’ manipulation.
