In a recent Q&A session filmed at Antwerp, Belgium, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan reveals how pre-Islamic Arabs – particularly the Quraysh elite – were surprisingly familiar with Judeo-Christian traditions through trade networks spanning Rome, Persia, Syria and Yemen. Their commercial interactions with Jewish arms dealers and Christian monks created cultural awareness that the Quran directly addressed.

The second part addresses modern da’wah challenges, emphasizing the need to:

1- Understand your audience’s worldview before speaking
2- Move beyond “scientific miracle” approaches to Quran-centered dialogue
3- Equip ourselves with responses to contemporary ideologies (secularism, atheism, etc.)

Ustadh Nouman recommends essential resources like Muhammad Qutb’s “Islam: The Misunderstood Religion” and Hamza Tzortzis’ “Why Islam is True” course for engaging today’s skeptics. He stresses that effective da’wah requires both historical awareness of the Prophet’s ﷺ contextual methods and modern intellectual preparation to address 21st century doubts.
