Iman is also that which is manifested in the limbs. One of the branches of Iman that is mentioned in details throughout the Quran and Sunnah, which is Wudhu(Ablution). The Prophet(S.A.W) said: “Doing Wudhu is half of Iman”
This Hadith is often mistranslated as purity is half of Iman. It is not accurate as the word purity in the context of the Hadith is referring to Wudhu. This is demonstrated because the Arabic word “Tahoor” from the Hadith is used in other Ahadith to indicate Wudhu. Our scholars commented on this, that how come that Wudhu, which seems to be so trivial, has been made half of Iman.
