Verses in the Quran are called ayah because they point to Allah. What happens if we violate a sign of Allah? In the story of Prophet Saleh (PBUH) in Surah Hud, he tells his people not to disturb the camel because it is a sign of Allah. When they killed it, they incurred Allah’s wrath. The lesson here is that when Allah calls something a sign, that thing cannot be destroyed or violated, whether it’s our marriage or our natural environment.
